BIOGRAPHY

Cesare Rabitti Cesare was born in 1949 in Bologna where he lives and works too. He has a very personal approach to art developed from his own fascination for the animal kingdom and hunting. Ever since he was a young boy he has been increasingly attracted by any type of artistic expressions that allowed him to express his feelings towards nature.
He started his work as autodidact in 1989 due to a tragic event. During a hunting shoot he slipped down to a precipice and he kept himself grabbed at a bush. He was saved by Noell, his wire-haired dog who saw him and “adviced” of Cesare's risk to his hunting colleagues.
He was really grateful to his dog for its help so he impulsively began to mould a dog's head: as the writer Emilio Cioni quoted: ...the awareness of one's own art can be set off by an accidental yet important event...

It has been said about him:

Giovanni Morsiani (Morsiani foundation)
His drammatic, but neither conventional nor rhetoric lyricism, draws the attention of the observer. It touches our souls, it nakes our feelings, it tells us a story about ancient art tradition. An almost forgotten past returns to us thanks to his work. His hands dipped in the ground like the furrow of the plough in the dawn of our life.

Prof. Franceso Franchi (Art Critic)
We greet the appareance of emerging shapes with which Cesare Rabitti free himself from the intellectual battle against the depreciation of moral goods. An important part of Cesare's biography is occupied by his proximity to animals and an important part of his ethical and aesthetic choice is occupied by his solidariety with human beings whose pain is shown through
symbols -by the artist-. They are the main facet of the artist's world vision that encompasses the sacredness of work and the importance of the deep respect for those who live in the Nature: for the animals. The rough and plain shapes are the proves of this research.

Marzia Novelli (Argos' magazine journalist)
...The visual impact is really extraordinary. He makes the dogs' faces look like alive and expressive, almost...speaking.

Antonio Caggiano ( Il Resto del Carlino's Critic Journalism)
At Palazzo Diamanti in Ferrara Rabitti exhibits works of particular formula characterised by aesthetic dynamism in which emerges a considerable ability of interpreting the human and the animal reality. A dizziness of existence.

Margherita Rovina (Nuova Ferrara mazine's critic journalist)
At Palazza Diamanti strike, intense and expressive shapes speak to the visitor's heart and mind.

Giorgio Martinelli (Cavallo Magazine's journalist)
The works of Cesare Rabitti, an italian sculptor who is specialised in the creation of equestrian subjects, seem to move theirselves. Horses are shown in drammatic, lively, untamed, sweet or also charm poses.

Alberto Roatti (Diana Armi magazine's journalist)
And so, while Cesare Rabitti torments the modelling material with hunting scenes once in the wood, once in the marsh with his petrified dogs in their typical position, he perpetrates the ancient need of predatory man. Timeless tangled by the predator human being.

Jean Pierre Denue (Becasse Passion magazine's journalist)
Cesare Rabitti is the master of the animal strenght and power representation.
L.Cabanau (Sanglier Passion magazine's journalist)
He knows how to render dynamic an attitude that will be cast in bronze keeping its aesthetic line and shapes.
In 2000 and 2001 the Tv channel “Season” has reported about Cesare Rabitti.
